Types of IVF You Should Know

Scribbled Underline 2

There are many IVF variants designed to meet different fertility challenges and patient needs.

Mature eggs are retrieved from the ovary and fertilised in a lab dish, then the embryo is transferred into the uterus.

Traditional IVF

A single sperm is injected directly into the egg, ideal when male factor infertility or poor sperm quality is involved.

ICSI – Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Previously frozen embryos are thawed and transferred in a later cycle, often with good outcomes and flexibility.

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

Uses gentler ovarian stimulation to retrieve fewer eggs, suitable for certain patients with specific needs.

Mini-IVF / Mild Stimulation IVF

No or minimal stimulation; uses the one egg naturally released in a cycle and completed in fewer days.

Natural Cycle IVF

Involves donor eggs or embryos or a gestational carrier when the intended parent cannot use their own eggs or carry a pregnancy.

Donor Egg / Donor Embryo / Gestational Carrier IVF
